 A stay at the RINCON BEACH RESORT

 Arriving at the Rincon Beach Resort is just that- An arrival. The nouveau classic building and portico, with its rich Caribbean colors, provide the perfect contrast with the deep blue skies and the blue-green waters of the pool and the sea. The lovely lobby and bar leads into a lovely circular garden that flows to the pool and beach under an impressive arched "paseo".

 Our room had a view of the quiet beach and low hills that are reminiscent of Mediterranean vistas.  The room was very well appointed and had a spacious terrace. The housekeeping staff did a great job in providing all of the creature comforts and room service is available by prior arrangement. We particularly appreciated a full-size desk, with an "Internet lamp" that had a built-in surge protector and line connection. The connection was on a separate line and gave us good dial-up speeds.  The large free-flowing pool also has a huge warm spa, which proved to be quite relaxing after a long day of activities. The clear, warm sea was the perfect place to swim and snorkel.  Kayaks and other water sports items are available. The poolside bar and grill, aptly called the Pelican Grill, served mixed and frozen drinks, oysters, fresh shrimp, pizza, chicken and ham sandwiches and "pinchos", a delicious local version of shiskebab. Of course, tasty hot dogs and juicy hamburgers are also available.

 During the evening, a Spanish guitar filled the air with mellow and enchanting tunes. The bar area becomes the gathering spot for guests and local professionals, who easily mingle and break into impromptu sing-alongs with the guitarist.  For those who get the munchies, delicious Tapas are served at the bar. One evening, we had the opportunity to see a wedding being celebrated in the garden. It was not only a beautiful sight, everyone was having the time of their lives. It must have been the scent of the tropical  flowers, the pure Caribbean air, or a combination of both- but we all felt as happy as the ones that were getting married.

 Our restaurant experiences were delightful, especially since one has the option to dine inside or al fresco. The menu contains a wide variety of delicious selections and special meals are available by prior arrangement.  The courteous and friendly staff went out of their way to help us with every request that we made and they are quite familiar with all of the local activities such as diving, surfing and fishing, as well as the best local places to eat and drink.  In all, a stay at one of the best hotels in Puerto Rico, the Rincon Beach Resort, is Paradise found; one that can be revisited any time and again.
